A concept sketch for the original Alexia Ashford figure from the second series of Resident Evil action figures for Palisades. Based on the character from the game Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
Alexia's first transformation is a very powerful one. Firstly, she has the ability to hurl what seems to be blood - while this doesn't seem to be a problem, the actual danger comes from the fact that these splatters of blood turn into flames, and the damage she can deal outside of this attack is immense. Even Wesker and his new powers were proven no match for Alexia.
On the far right you can see how the add-on piece in the figure pack was to work. This was so that you could transform the figure into the Version III Alexia.
After you cause enough damage to the Version II (not shown...it was a mammoth thing of goo and gore), Alexia will transform again. The third form is part winged dragonfly, part bile-fire-throwing scorpion - a horrific ensemble of animal and human parts.
The sculptor ended up using this sketch and some other reference material and some discussions back and forth with me to build the figure.
I really enjoy this transformation because they put some real thought into creating something different- after all it is plant/ insect based if you noticed during the 2nd transformation of the thing she comes out of is a flower, the vines that create it, and her hair resembles that of rosé petals.
I enjoyed Code Veronica way more than any of the other games. I actually bought the figure that this concept art is about, a very good purchase on my part. I personally think that Wesker would have lost to Alexia. He punched her in the head at full force and she shrugged it off like nothing. If she can take a Wesker punch to the head and continue like it was nothing, than I think she has the fight in the bag.
